Let's Talkity Talk!

This is the tumblr for the online-talk show Let's Talkity Talk with Melissa Gomez. The show has grandeur hopes of having a guest interview + sketches + and a segment where you find out more about the interview than you normally would in a conversation or in passing.

I happen to be a part of a great community, and I want to share that with you, Internet.

  1. Oh Hello Internet! I am finally getting to edit my interview that I did with Susan Casey two months ago and am really having a blast going through the footage. Susan is someone I met two years ago through UCB and consistently surprises me with her wit and grace. She writes awesome short stories over at Light Jams and she has appeared in videos for Landline TV, UCBComedy and Captain Hippo. She also has one of the funniest twitter feeds around at @SusCasey ! Please check back in on July 25th when I release my 2nd episode of Let’s Talkity Talk!! PS. Yes, I did the entire interview in my glasses! PPS. You know the Bo that I’m talking about is the Presidential Dog, right?

  2. BONUS: Ellena was unsure at first of the social scene that came in improv, and rightfully so, because the biggest creep in the world was just lurking in the corners.

     
     

  3. It’s hereeee. It’s a bit long. Watch it anyway…or just like when you watch movies on youtube, pause it and come back to it. I had a separate mic going and so I have a lot of more audio than I did video, so I might put that up so you can here us talk unedited, which just means theres more tangents and umm’s than there should be for two grown up ladies such as ourselves. Full Disclosure: I didn’t use the external mic audio in the video because I went crazy trying to sync everything up and then just decided to learn how to do it right for next time. I’m learning!

    BUT in spite of that, I’m so happy that its here. I think the interview is a very accurate representation of what having a conversation with Ellena and I would be like. A little awkward in the beginning and then you fall in love five minutes in. NAILED IT.

    The month of December, I will be bringing you a little segment on Ellena’s collections and also another little diddy, more short bursts rather than this sit down part, but I like it.

    So, thank you so much for watching. Leave comments on youtube on how long this video is and tell me how many times I pick up that damn green cup….it was filled with MULLED WINE but it made my jump cuts harder than they shouldve been.  WEEEEE :)

     
     

  4. Did you ever wonder what Ellena looks like eating a sandwich and singing I Wanna be Sedated? Well I know, and I use it to advertise for the first episode of my web-talk show Let’s Talkity Talk with Melissa Gomez.

    Side note: I was testing out the lights when this was shot, but my favorite part is when Ellena makes dead eye contact with the camera while biting in to her sandwich. It’s chilling and me likey.

     
     
  5. This is a set-photo for the interview portion of Ellena’s Talkity Talk episode. Look at us being so charming (in high contrast)! I’m really excited to have Ellena as my first guest. She was the perfect host, completely open and really lent herself to the experience. We were literally learning as we went along and I felt totally in sync with what we were discussing that I’m excited that I get to share this with you.  Sure, we had some issues with the camera overheating and the memory card but it was fun to just do it. If I learned anything, it’s to just go for it even if you’re not certain, because in the end — you gain more than you lose. That’s all we can ask for really.
